National Championships

Pétanque New Zealand runs nine National Championships each year. The National Singles (early October), the National Doubles (early November), the National Senior Doubles (early December), the National Women’s Triples, National Triples, Men’s and Women’s Shooting Competition and Men’s and Women’s Pointing Competition (early March). The National Mixed Doubles was added to the calendar in 2017 (early May). The National Club Championship is late April. Tournament dates do vary, so check the PNZ calendar to confirm.

Entry to the National Singles, Doubles, Mixed Doubles and Triples is open to any financial member of a Pétanque club affiliated to Pétanque New Zealand. To enter the National Senior Doubles, a player must also be over the age of 60 years. To enter the National Women's Triples a player must also be female.

For a club to take part in the Club Championship a team comprises 6 players of whom a minimum 2 must be female.
