Jacques Cochonnet Challenge Trophy

Kapiti's second away defence was not as successful as their first. After a nearly three year break, the Jacques Cochonnet Trophy has gone back to the Wairarapa.

Doubles: Max Brown/Annick Le Guen vs. Sue Haworth/Graeme Morris 8-13, 13-1, 13-10;
Triples: Rex Hayes/Michael Lacoste/Alan Taylor vs. Pete Haworth/Barbara Johnston/Joan Miller 13-4, 1-13, 1-13.
Score: Kapiti 3, Masterton 6

Masterton's first defence is away to Hataitai.

Nominations have closed for the 2010-11 WPA Regional Awards. The category winners will be announced at the WPA Annual General Meeting on Thursday 9 June 2011. Nominees

At the end of the first day's play in Melbourne, the New Zealand Open team lead Australia 34-26, while the New Zealand Senior team lead 40-20.

To win each match a team has to reach 61 points.

The New Zealand Senior team beat their Australian counterparts 61-47 with a round to spare to clinch their fourth consecutive win, and second on Australian soil. After seven matches, New Zealand leads the series 5-2.

The Open team took one more round to secure their win, but the result was no less emphatic as they won all six Mixed Doubles games to take the match 72-48. This is the fourth consecutive win, and the third in Australia. In the Open division, New Zealand leads 6-3.
