2011 Masterton Mid-Winter Doubles winners

Joan Miller and Claire Wilson became the first team to win the Masterton Mid-Winter Doubles for the second time when they beat Christian Fouquet and Dirk Winnie 13-10 in the Trophy final.

The Wellington team for the Southern Senior Tri-Star is: Peter Dennett (Hataitai), Fay Doyle (Kapiti), Bob McCarthy (Otaki), Margaret Mordecai (Otaki), Graeme Morris (Masterton), Ralph Priddle (Masterton).

The Senior Tri-Star will be held in the Southern Region, 27 & 28 August.

The Regional Award winners for 2010-11 are:

For Personality of the Year, there was a tie in the voting so Ian and Jean Baine (Park Avenue) and Richard Turfrey (Wanganui East) are declared Joint Personalities of the Year.

Jacques Cochonnet Challenge Trophy

Three years ago Hataitai took the Jacques Cochonnet Trophy off Masterton in a home challenge. This time Masterton recorded an emphatic 9-0 win to ensure that history did not repeat.

FIPJP World Championships

2012 World Championship logo

The dates and venue for the 2012 World Championship have been announced. The tournament will be held at the Palais des Sports in Marseille, France from 3 to 7 October 2012.

This year's Women's World Championship is in Hanoi, Vietnam, from 7 to 9 October.

Women's World Championship

23 June 2011

The NZ team for the Women's World Championship is: Sharon Cannon (Bay View), Barbara Johnston (Masterton), Christine Strichen (Wanganui East) and Claire Wilson (Masterton).

Sharon and Barbara have both been members of the 2006, 2008 and 2009 Women's World Championship teams. Christine and Claire will be attending their first World Championship.

An announcement on the Coach and Manager is still be to be made.

The Tournament sub-committee have circulated a questionnaire to find out how players would like to see WPA tournaments run in the 2011-12 season. Copies are available for download (57kB).

Responses are required back by 31 July.
