Naenae first defence of the Jacques Cochonnet Trophy was away at Kapiti.
The home team had a solid start winning the three first round games. Everything was decided in the second round when the home team won another two games to claim the trophy. Kapiti also won all the games of the last round for a final score of 8-1.
Kapiti first defence is away at Wanganui.
