Graeme Morris, from the Masterton Pétanque club, has been appointed by the PNZ Board to the position of Technical Director of Coaching.

As a consequence, the PNZ Board are now looking for an editor for the Pétanque New Zealand magazine.

Jacques Cochonnet Challenge match

16 August 2014

Otaki's second defence of the Jacques Cochonnet Challenge Trophy was at Park Avenue.

A slow start saw the Otaki under pressure and they lost the Trophy in the second round of games. A late rally in the final round saw them close the gap to 3-6.

Park Avenue's first defence will be away to Masterton.

Wanganui East Mêlée

A great day was had by all 60 players with Bob McCarthy (Otaki) winning with 5 wins and a points differential of plus 35. Claire Wilson (Masterton) was second with 5 wins plus 33 and third place was claimed by Pete Hamilton (Wanganui East) 5 wins plus 30.

Prizes were given out to the first 20 players plus last.

This is Graeme Morris's last issue in charge, so there is a vacancy for an Editor.

WPA Committee Meeting

Hi all.

The next meeting of the WPA Committee will be held on Saturday, 20 September at Horowhenua Pétanque Club at the conclusion of the day's play in the Regional Singles. Approximate time 3:30 pm.

Any items for the agenda must be forwarded to me by Friday, August 29 2014. Just a reminder, a discussion paper needs to be attached to your item to be forwarded to Clubs with the agenda.
