Gérard Pinguet

1 September 2009

It is with sadness that we report the death yesterday of Gérard Pinguet, Patron of the Kapiti club and formerly of the Wellington club. Gérard was a leading figure in the early days of the WPA.

A farewell will be held at the Whenua Tapu Crematorium, Airlie Road, Pukerua Bay at 2:00 pm on Monday, 7 September.

Our sympathies are offered to Solange and family.

Shooting competition scoring

8 September 2009

An update to the points awarded for the World Championship Shooting competition. In figure 5, if you hit the jack and it does not leave the spot it is worth 1 point (previously given 3 points, the same as hit and does not leave the circle.)

Thanks from a WPA Team member

8 September 2009

I was one of the Wellington Team to play against Auckland at Park Avenue on the 29th & 30th August. While we were unable to quite do the business, I would like to place on record, my appreciation to the unknown donor of the team caps. Whoever you are, you helped make the team look very smart, and I feel sure this helped our performance.

Also, to Dirk Winnie, thank you for your sincere and positive coaching and management of the team. We are fortunate to have you on our side.

WPA Regional Seeding Points

28 September 2009

The Seeding list has been updated following the Regional Singles.

Note: There have been two changes made to the allocation of seeding points. The two point gap between the Trophy semi-finalists (top 4) and top 8 has been reduced to one point. Points are now awarded for the top 32 placegetters instead of the top 16. These changes have increased the number of players on the Seeding list from 75 to 110.
