Michael provided an update on revenue and expenses since the draft was sent out last month.
The report was approved (S Frampton/C Horton)

There was further discussion about trophies and the sub-committee are to report back in time for the next meeting.
Gwen spoke to her report. Christine Taylor has been promoted to National Umpire status. Due to the difficulties in arranging a convenient time with Barbara Whittington to run a practical exam, there is now the possibility of using Chris to take it.
Discussion held over until the next meeting.
This was covered in the earlier discussion. The Tournament Sub-committee is to report back on the allocation of trophies and proportion of tournament fees to be spent on prizes in time for the next meeting
Gwen is to get costs for bringing Chris Taylor to Wellington to run the Umpire's practical exam.
A letter was received from Barbara Johnston suggesting the introduction of timed games in the qualifying rounds of WPA events. The Tournament sub-committee is to report back on Barbara's letter, plus the introduction of a Consolante event on the second day of a two day regional championship.
The Awards will be announced at the Masterton Midwinter Doubles. It was decided that an Awards ceremony was not really practical. Concern was expressed at the small number of nominations received.
Request from Tommy Werry that communication regarding Regional representation and coaching/training initiatives should also be sent to club Secretaries and not just put on the website.
Michael gave a demonstration of the Discussion forum that had been added to the website. The initial target for the site is the Club delegates. Guidelines for use are still being developed. In the meantime, all discussion areas are being moderated, that is, posting will need to be approved before they will appear. In time the forum will be rolled out to all WPA members. Access to the forum will be checked against the membership lists submitted by clubs.
The new RSS or News feed was also demonstrated.
The meeting closed at 9:25 pm.
