Finance

Brian Smith presented the financial statement

That $30 be paid per day to each club hosting WPA events, moved Brian Smith, seconded Claire Bradburn, carried.

These events include the Hawke Bay/Wellington tournament and the Clash. Kaye Alison suggested that clubs be paid after each tournament rather than at the end of the year.

Events debrief

Inter-Club

The meeting in general was happy with the inter-club which went well except for the last round which had to be rescheduled. Alternative formats were suggested and could be looked at.

Champion of Champions Events

8 clubs entered in the singles and doubles and 3 in the triples with only 2 teams able to compete. Letter from Kapiti suggested not holding an event if there are less than 4 entries. Some clubs do not hold Triples championships and others had not held theirs in time for the WPA event.

That club singles, doubles and triples championships be held 2 weeks prior to the relevant WPA championships, moved M Rocks, seconded G Morris, carried.

WPA Regional Triples

Regional Triples at Park Avenue went off without any problems.

WPA Women's Singles championship

Was very successful with 32 entries. Kathy Taylor referred to the close-off date which was extended and said that clubs could have been informed that late entries would be taken.

Upcoming events

Winter Doubles

Proposal to hold Winter Doubles over 4 rounds presented by Brian Smith fully discussed and accepted by the meeting. The first round will be at Park Avenue, second at Kapiti. Reserve day 10 September. Entry forms to be sent to clubs and will be on the website.

PNZ Report

AGM minutes will be sent out with the next magazine and are on the website. Michael Rocks reported that Graeme Morris has stepped down as CEO and was presented with a Life Membership. At present there is no CEO. PNZ are reviewing a lot of things that they do and will need some feedback from clubs on this.

Arrangements going well for the Trans Tasman event on 13/14 May - would like to see as many spectators as possible. Gold coin donation optional. Email will be sent to all clubs with details of start time etc.
