WPA Interclub Doubles

Defaults

Format

Some concerned expressed re Round 2 Pools where one or two clubs had a number of their teams in the same pool.

It was suggested that the Round 2 format should be adjusted to avoid this happening. It was pointed out that this could look like the pools were being fiddled

WPA Singles Championship 2/3 October

Venue: Kapiti Pétanque Club
Start Time: 930am (Saturday &Sunday)
Entry Fee: $10.00 per player
Registration by: 24th September
Format: The Tournament Committee to set format.

WPA: Promotion & Publicity

Wellington edition of the "Sportz Plus" magazine

Meeting decided this was not a suitable vehicle for pétanque.

Sportmedia proposal

Decided to give this proposal a go. Trial run with the Interclub Final.

WPA Brochure

Update WPA brochure (Brian) and distribute throughout the regions' Information Centres and any other suitable outlets.

NZPA Report

Graeme reported on the recent two day NZPA Committee meeting. The committee is working well and good progress is being made.

Westpac Business Games 10.10.99

Pétanque to be held at Park Avenue.

Gerard reported on a visit from Mike Andrews (Blenheim)

Blenheim are increasing the number of pistes.
Gerard involved in running a course on pétanque at Porirua College. Hopefully it will mean some new members for the Porirua Club.

Donation towards travel costs of the Bay View team to the World Championships

Portable Lighting

Dirk to investigate portable lightlng (Mitre 10?). If suitable the WPA will purchase a set or sets and they will be available for use by clubs.
