Matters Arising

Kapiti Pétanque Club received $1,300 from the Hillary Commission not $3,000.

Brenda has written an information brochure for sending to schools. Copy of "Pétanque for the Younger Player" shown to committee.

Interclub Doubles Final

Agrees to start at 9:30am. Rain day 18.10.98

Wellington Singles Championship, 24 & 25 October

Discussed proposal. Agreed with proposal to hold two tournaments. A "Open Tournament" and a "Reserve Tournament".

Entry fee for tournaments:
The following motion was put to the meeting: "That the entry fee be $10.00 for both tournaments"

An amendment was put to the meeting: "That the entry fee be $5.00 for both tournaments"

Amendment put to the vote: 3 for, 10 against. Amendment lost.

A further amendment was put to the meeting: "That the entry be $10.00 for the Open Tournament and $5.00 for the Reserve Tournament".

NZPA Strategic Plan

Preliminary draft of Strategic Plan distributed. Membership structure discussed. Graeme & Ralph said that Masterton had discussed the membership structure and were tabling the following motion:

"That the capitation fee for the NZPA be set at $5.00 per member. In return the member would be issued with an NZPA license."

The following motion was put to the meeting: "That there be no club affiliation fee"

Interclub Challenge

Meeting agreed with proposal. Daphne to work on the details.

Junior Development

Meeting agreed that the WPA should run a training day for under 18 players. School holidays start on 28.9.98. Suggested holding it on the first Wednesday. WPA to pay costs ie. food and travel. Brenda to coordinate.

Programme Planning Proposal

Brenda spoke to her proposal. Some disagreement on having clubs play their championships on the same day. Meeting agreed to try and plan major tournaments as far ahead as possible (12 months?).
