No further nominations. Leon and Brian duly elected.

Each club to nominate a delegate. Any club member can attend a meeting of the WPA Committee.

WPA Doubles Tournament 6th July

Meeting discussed giving part of the entry fee from these tournaments to clubs.

However the meeting decided to repay the Upper Hutt Pétanque Club for the boule they bought ($900) for WPA use.

Moved that: "The WPA repay the $900 to the Upper Hutt Pétanque Club for the cost of boule, as funds allow". Moved: Graeme, Seconded: Ralph

Interclub Triples. Format and date of playoffs

Finals to played over the weekend of 29th & 30th November and to include a social event. Saturday 29th play plate eliminations and trophy preliminaries, Sunday 30th play finals of plate & trophy.

Winner and runner-up of monthly league to receive prizes. Placings in league to be determined by number of wins and which team has beaten the other. eg. If 2 teams have equal number of wins the team who has beaten the other will be the winner. If 3 teams have the same number of wins the team who has beaten the others will be the winner. If there is no clear winner positive points will determine the winner.

Dirk presented the meeting with a playoff format for plate and trophy. Meeting agreed on this format.

The top 5 teams from the league. Best of three games per match

1st round

Team (1) bye
Team (2) v Team (3) - Match 1
Team (4) v Team (5) - Match 2

2nd round

Winner Match 1 v Team (1) - Match 3
Loser Match 1 v Winner Match 2 - Match 4
Winner Match 3 goes directly into final

3rd round

Loser Match 3 v Winner Match 4 - Match 5
Winner Match 5 goes directly into final

Plate

Remaining 17 teams play a knockout until only 5 teams left. Then same system as trophy format except that only the final would be best of 3 games. Rankings for last 5 places would be based on league placings.

Calendar updated. Copies will be distributed to clubs.

General Business

Westpac Trust Games 12 October

Pétanque is one of a number of events in these games. The organizers have asked to use Park Ave for the Pétanque. Assistance required to run the pétanque.

Petanques Rules

The official pétanque rules are to be printed and distributed to all clubs.
