Matters arising from minutes 13 March 1997
Event calendar: Proposed calendar drawn up and presented to meeting. Clubs to receive copy and notify WPA of events they would like included.
Air New Zealand National Singles Debrief
All agreed that it was a very sucessful tournament.
Wellington Regional Interclub League.
- 22 teams have entered.
- Each team to play 3 games per month.
- At end of round robin a playoff will be held to determine winners etc. Format to be decided at a later date.
- Points differential: positive points only to be counted.
- In the event of a default, the defaulting team will forfeit the game. The non defaulting team wins the game and is credited with their average points differential (calculated
at the end of the round robin).
- Wet weather: games to procede. Postponed only if howling gale, snow, etc.
New Zealand Pétanque Association AGM Report
- Noel Hunt (Napier) elected Vice President.
- NZPA to develop 5 year plan (2002). Regional associations asked for input.
- A format to be developed for all national tournaments.
- NZPA to sort out working relationship with regional associations.
Note: Secretary has a copy of the NZPA Accounts (year ended 31.3.97). Minutes of AGM to be sent to WPA as soon as they have been written up.
Wellington Pétanque Association. Frequency of meetings
Agreed to hold meetings every second month. Next meeting in June to elect Chair, Secretary/Treasurer and formalise committee. Nominations for Chair and Secretary/Treasurer by 1.6.97 (contact Leon)
General Business
- Obut Doubles Tournament 4.5.97. Tournament fees to be donated to NZPA to assist in funding the team to the World Championships.
