The Chanticleer challenge, Wellington versus Auckland, will take place 18 & 19 August 2012, at Herne Bay. National Representatives who played for the NZ Open or NZ Women’s teams, over the past 12 months, are not elligible. However, players from the NZ Senior teams can put their names forward for selection.
If you would like to be considered for the Wellington Open or Senior Teams, please let Richard Turfrey know by 15 June 2012.
It is anticipated that a training day will be organized for late June. The date and venue to be advised.

Gordon Dykes, Simon Hurley and Lee Taffard won the Hawke's Bay Autumn Triples last month by beating Maurice Belz, Pete Hamilton and Shirley Selwyn in the final.

Nineteen teams took part in the Murrayfield Open Triples at Otaki, after a late withdrawal. Going into the final round, three teams had recorded four wins with Grant Bray, Rex Hayes and Annick Le Guen leading comfortably on points differential.
Unfortunately, they stmbled in their last game which allowed Myles Cowper, Margret Fleck and Michael Rocks to claim first place ahead of the home club team Diane Brunton, Gary Brunton and Mike Towart.

The finals of the Inter-club competition were almost a replay of last year. In Division One, Masterton reversed last year's result to stop Park Avenue's quest for four consecutive titles.
In Division Two, Hataitai defeated Horowhenua, while Manawatu beat Silverstream by default to claim Division Three.

Kapiti won the Jacques Cochonnet Trophy for the fifth time when they beat Wanganui East in their home challenge match. Since the introduction of the venue draw in Round 11 (2007-08), there have been 25 challenge matches played at the challenger's terrain, with the holder winning 13 and the challenger 12.

Thirty-six teams have entered the Masterton Midwinter Doubles to be played at Clareville over Queen's Birthday weekend.
The field includes defending champions Joan Miller and Claire Wilson, as well as former champions Denise Bavidge and Geoff Greer (2002), Andrew Joe and Brian Smith (2009).
