The draw for Round 16 was made at the conclusion of the Committee Meeting. It is a provisional draw as not all clubs have confirmed that they are taking part.

A big thank you to all the people who supported our fundraising Mêlée and a special thank you to the Horowhenua Pétanque Club for being great hosts.

The minutes for the 1 September meeting are now available. The next meeting will be held on Saturday 24 September at the conclusion of play at the Regional Singles. The meeting will be held in the Horowhenua clubrooms.

Thirty-three teams took part in the traditional season opener at the Napier City Pétanque club. The trophy final was won by David Lippard and Michael Rocks from Christian Fouquet and Murray Porter.

Horowhenua took the early lead in their challenge against Upper Hutt and held on over the last two rounds to win the Jacques Cochonnet Trophy for the first time.

Thirteen teams took part in the National Women's Triples held in Caversham. The Championship was won by Karen Stephen, Tina Targett and Christine Taylor who become the second South Island team to win a national championship.

Just a reminder. The next WPA committee meeting is to be held at Horowhenua Club at the close of play on day one of the Regional Singles on Saturday 24th September 2011. This is to allow Clubs who cannot normally attend evening meetings to have a presence. (Agenda)

Thirty-four players took part in the first Regional championship of the season. The Championship was won by Michael Rocks from Richard Lawson. The Plate was won by Dirk Winnie from Brent Longhurst and the Bowl by Pete Hamilton from Lew Gill.
