The First Regional Tournament had been held, the Singles, and a small profit was made. Numbers were down from last year.
Claire thanked Michael for his report.
Graeme reported that there were 32 entries for the Singles and 3 people in reserve, which gave 4 groups of 8. All went smoothly. Results have been sent to the Webmaster.
Claire Wilson won the Pointing Competition and Rachel Clarke was Runner-up.
The next tournament is the Regional Doubles.
All clubs reported basically the same, that members either signed in or a register was taken each playing day. Hand sanitiser was available and members made a choice about elbow bumping or shaking hands. Khandallah was the only club that did not open. All clubs followed the Ministry of Health guidelines.
Graeme reported that there had been one rep training day for the team to go to the Tri-Star. Players decided that at the time it was going to be too difficult to arrange transport to go South. Since then circumstances had changed and Graeme will ask the players and see if they still want to go. The Tournament will still go ahead.
Graeme is going to ask clubs to see whether they want coaching for coaches.
Nobody had any problems with the dates and the next meeting would be Thursday, 29 October via Zoom.
Christine asked why the Shooting Competition was held over two rounds when the PNZ only had one round. Michael replied that it was increased to two rounds a few years ago as people had complained about only coming for 1 round. He thought two rounds would encourage more people to enter. Graeme thought two rounds was time consuming but Michael would be running the tournament.
Claire asked if the numbers were increasing for the shooting, Graeme said that they were basically staying the same. Claire suggested at the next competition players to be asked whether they wanted 1 or 2 rounds.
Noeline asked whether the WPA could write up a procedure for clubs to follow in case of another outbreak and the country shifted levels.
Meeting closed at 8.15pm
