This year has been an interesting one with Trophies changing hand and tournaments being won on the last boule, (long nail biting days) for all involved. There have been an increasing number of first-time competitors, which is great to see.
Thanks to the executive committee for all the hard work carried out behind the scenes to maintain the running of the WPA; Noeline Corley, Michael Rocks and our minute secretary Val Clark.
Our new Web Master Moises Burgos is doing a great job keeping every one up to date with results, news, seeding and tournaments. If no one sends him information about your club activities he is unable to publish them on your web site.
Thanks to Graeme Morris, Claire Wilson and others for running tournaments for the group. As always these tournaments run without any hitches, (above the water line) but out of sight the beavers are working flat out to provide a seamless tournament for the competitors.
A new tournament was introduced this season, the WPA Mixed Doubles
which saw 32 teams enter. I assume each team wanted to have their name on the top of the trophy. That honour went to Michelle Maxwell and Lee Taffard.
Graeme Morris also holds two positions in the WPA organization as our squad trainer & coach for The Chanticleer, Tri-Star and Haines Cup. Thanks for all your work Graeme.
Also thanks to your club delegates for voicing your opinions at each meeting for without them your club could not be heard.
Squad training has begun with keen interest from all those wanting to represent the WPA for the next season.
To all WPA members a big thanks for your time and effect travelling around the countryside.
