Matters Arising

Correspondence

Inwards

• Auckland Pétanque - Hosting Chanticleer Cup; asking for a venue closer to Wellington Airport for future fixtures. Graeme Morris is going to talk to them in August at the next event as we don’t have any suitable venues close to the Wellington Airport, but Manawatu is very close to the Palmerston North Airport.
• Hutt City Senior Sport Expo; re a promotional Expo to be held at the Walter Nash Stadium in the Hutt Valley on September 7th. An email will be sent to the clubs to see if they wish to participate.

Treasurer’s Report

Michael spoke to the Financial statement. There had been very little change from the end of year Financial Statement until the end of June and since then $3000 had been paid to 10 clubs. Michael was still waiting for bank details from Silverstream.

Affiliation Fees are due 1st September and Michael will be sending out details for payment.

Tournament Sub-Committee Report

There is nothing happening at the moment.

As Claire Bradburn has stepped down, Graeme Morris and Clare Wilson will run the tournaments:

• Graeme Morris will run the Open and Senior Tournaments.
• Claire Wilson will run the Women’s Tournaments.
• Brian Frampton will run the Champion of Champion Doubles Tournament in Otaki.

Tournament Fixtures

• The Senior Doubles Tournament will be held at Horowhenua.
• The C of C Singles Tournament has tentatively been booked for Upper Hutt.
• The C of C Triples Tournament will be held in Otaki.
• The WPA Triples Tournament will be held at Manawatu 17/18 February 2018.

Chanticleer Cup

The team members to play are:

Open

Steve Frampton, Yvonne Futcher, Dave Gatchell, Kevin McFadgen, Trish Smart and Ron Sandilands.

Senior

David Corley, Tony Gatford, Ann Hogg, Marc Khull, Shirley MacDonald and Sheryl Parslow.

Southern Tri Star

November 26-27 to be played at Ashburton, team will be announced at a later date.

Chanticleer Cup Budget

To be played at Manawatu in August has been set at $200 for catering over the 2 days for 30 players and coaches. Moved Michael, Seconded David. Carried.

General Business

Oceania Tournament

There was a great deal of discussion about how much money would be donated to PNZ for this fixture and it was felt that any money donated should be put towards something specific. It was suggested that the WPA would donate $500 to PNZ to help run the Oceania Tournament. This money will be used for one of the following:

1. Medals
2. Trophies
3. Transport

PNZ National Championships

Michael expressed that PNZ had changed the format for next year without any consultation with clubs and said that Wanganui East and Bay View would be writing to them about the lack of consultation.

WPA Open Triples Survey

Currently held in December, feedback of these to be emailed to Graeme Morris.
