WPA Committee Meeting Minues

Previous Minutes

The minutes of the last meeting held on 16 February 2017 were taken as read. Acceptance proposed by Kevin, seconded by David. Carried

Graeme had not canvassed players re Open Triples Tournament.

Treasurer’s Report

Michael spoke to the Financial Statement that was previously distributed.

Acceptance moved by Kevin, seconded by Val. Carried.

Tournament Sub-Committee Report

Wellington Triples Tournament was held recently.

Interclub

There was no clear favourite among the proposed options.

It was moved that a 1 day tournament be held on Saturday, 27 January and 4 members will make up a team. Moved Kevin, seconded Graeme. Carried.

Graeme will make up a format.

Tournament Dates for next season

Updated Tournament Conditions

Graeme passed around Tournament Conditions for discussion.

All games up until the single elimination stage will be timed 60 minutes plus One (1) end. If there is a tie after the 1 end then an one extra end will be played.

It was moved that Champion of Champions Tournament games all be timed in the random draw.

Moved Kevin, seconded Val - carried.

All changes will be written up with all entry forms.

General Business

New clubs wishing to Affilaite to WPA

The Expectation for new clubs to join Wellington Pétanque procedure was distributed and approved and will be put up on the website.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM will be held on Saturday 17 June in the Hutt area commencing at 3:00 pm.

There was a discussion re Life Membership nomination.

Promotion

Graeme discussed the idea of marketing Pétanque with book marks. Graeme will come back to the committee with a proposal, costs and expectations.

Noeline asked if there is anything to promote WPA out of the Region, and at the moment there are only shirts worn by WPA rep players.

Horowhenua letter to PNZ

Carleen read a letter from Horowhenua which was sent to PNZ for an explanation as to why the fees were so high.

Jacques Cochonnet Draw

Not all clubs advised if they wished to be included in the draw. Anyone who didn’t respond will be included at the end of the draw in the order they contact the Secretary. The draw for the match venue will be made at the subsequent WPA meeting.
