    1. Process for Selecting the Regional Coach/Selectors

This has previously be done as an appointment at the AGM. It was decided that this may not be the most appropriate appointment process. What is a better method?

    2. Format and scheduling of the Inter-club competition

Three options have been suggested by the Tournament Sub-committee

      • Same format as usual (with clubs that want to play) but zones will be either East/West or North/South depending on entries. It seemed to work well by playing the east Zone at Upper Hutt last year. The options for the timing of this format can be either revert back to the time of year we used to play i.e., earlier in the year, March - April or play at the same time as we did last year i.e. August - September - October.
      • A new format be adopted with each club fielding a team of 4. This will be two doubles combinations. (Note - the competition will be completed in one day). The day would consist of 4 randomly drawn matches club against club. That is, club A number 1 team would play club B number 1 team and the number 2 teams would play each other. If it is a tie (1 win each) points for and against would determine the result. After 4 randomly drawn rounds the top 4 teams would play semi-finals and then the 2 winners would play a final.

Clubs can have more than 4 players if they wish, as different players can be brought in for each match (but not during a match).

Games would be timed 50 minutes plus one end.

      • Play an Interclub competition over one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) with a suitable format to be decided upon.
    3. Request from PNZ to change the WPA Constitution
    4. Changes to WPA Tournament Conditions
      • Penalties for absent players or team needs to be updated for time-limited games as the PNZ Interpretation is 1 point if 5 minutes late and 1 point per minute thereafter.
    5. Changes to WPA Tournament Host protocols
      • The host club should supply photographs of the tournament. As a minimum this should be a group photo of attendees and category winners and runners-up.
    6. Proposed 2017 WPA Meeting dates
      • Thursday 13 April (Kapiti)
      • Saturday, 17 June (AGM) (Silverstream/Upper Hutt)
      • Thursday, 13 July (Kapiti)
      • Thursday, 14 September (Silverstream)
      • Thursday, 16 November (Kapiti)
