Subject: NZ Youth team funding
Hi Kevin, Colleen, and Michael,
A NZ youth team is being sent to the Trans Tasman, consisting of 4 players. As a board member of PNZ, I have been asked to approach the WPA, for assistance with sending this youth team. PNZ has received funding of $400 each, from the APA and the Southern Region. This initiative is an important one, for the development of Youth Petanque within New Zealand. Please can you give favorable consideration to assisting this youth tem.
Thank you

Subject: NZ Youth
Hi Kevin,
You may be aware of the struggle that we have to get youngsters involved in petanque. Finally we have something concrete for them to aim towards - the youth Trans Tasman.
We have a team of 4 that we would like to send to the Trans Tasman tournament. It would be fair to say this is a scratch team at best. It was chosen from some of the players who played in the Youth Tournament last year.
The players come from Auckland and the South Island however we thought that it would be fantastic if the whole country got behind them and supported them financially. This would firstly reduce the cost for them and also give us a level of confidence that players in the future, irrespective of region, would be supported.
While we have no players in this team it could be a carrot that we use for players of the future from Wellington. The other regions have pledged $400 and the PNZ were wondering if the WPA could do the same?
cheers
