Thirty-eight teams from around the country took part in the National Doubles at Park Avenue.
In the first round on Saturday morning, Jared Handford and Andre Noel lost to Allan Fletcher and Christian Fouquet. In the Championship final on Sunday evening these two teams faced each other again. However, this time the result was reversed.
This is Jared's first National title and Andre becomes the second person after Georgio Vakauta (1999-2000-2001 and 2008-09-10) to win three consecutive National Doubles titles.

After a four year absence from the game, Allan Fletcher has surged back into the National Rankings finishing the year in third place. Georgio Vakauta retains the top spot, although he was briefly dethroned by Andre Noel over the off-season.
Christine Strichen is the top ranked female player and Ian Baker the top ranked Senior.

Ian Baker, Andre Noel and Georgio Vakauta retained their Wanganui East Open Triples title when they beat Morgan Choveaux, Jared Handford and Nico Toyne in the final.

Shirley MacDonald and Shirley Selwyn won the Regional Senior Doubles. In the final they beat defending champions Barbara and Brian Frampton.

Annick Le Guen had a good pétanque weekend in Horowhenua. On Saturday she teamed up with Claire Wilson to win the Women's Doubles and on Sunday she joined Barbara Johnston and Christine Strichen to win the Women's Triples.

After a break of seven years the 3 Boules Triples was held again at Khandallah. The additional boules on the terrain ensured some tight games including a 4-4 draw.
In the Trophy final, second seeds Elizabeth Rocks, Michael Rocks and Roy Zeier beat top seeds Peter Dennett, Richard Lawson and Karepa Mataira. The Plate was won by Jack Gazzard, Linda Gazzard and Harl Stevens from Erica Drake, Catherine Maher and Christophe Vesse.
The Bowl was won by Carol Lacoste, Judith Williamson and Rex Williamson from Dallas Denby, Peter Easther and Jim Ryburn. (Final Results)
