At the end of Day 1, New Zealand enjoyed an advantage in both the Open and Senior sections, which is something they have only achived once before (Levin 2006).
On Day 2, in the Senior section, Australia won only one game as New Zealand marched on to secure victory in Round 8. Andrew and Diane Findlay had the honour of scoring the 61st point to take the match. The final two rounds were not formally played as the New Zealand lead could not be overtaken. Most of the players continued on with Rounds 9 and 10. The results were not recorded.
In the Open Section, the New Zealand dominance was not quite as complete. The Australians held New Zealand to 60 points after Round 8, meaning that the race was on amongst the New Zealand teams to score the first Triples win of the day to secure the match. The honour went to Claire Bradburn, Jayne Heron and Sarah-Jane Wright.
After six Trans Tasman matches, the series are shared 3-3. In the Senior section, the series are shared 2-2.
