Inter-club Competition 2003

The inaugural Inter-club competition was held over the winter months in 2003 as a separate competition to the Winter League.

Each team comprised six players who all played one Singles, one Doubles and one Triples match each round. A Singles win was worth 2 match points, a Doubles win 3 match points and a Triples win 5 match points. Each match was out of a possible 31 match points.

Seven clubs entered the competition with Kapiti fielding two teams to avoid a bye. The clubs were initially allocated into two divisions of 4 teams based on the previous Winter League results. The second Kapiti team was allocated to Division B.

At the end of the first round-robin (round 3) the first and third team in each division and the second and fourth team in the other division played a second qualifying round-robin. At the end of the sixth round the top two teams in each division met in the third round-robin in Division A and the bottom two teams met in Division B.
