All three Hutt Valley took part and honours were shared with Naenae beating Upper Hutt, Upper Hutt beating Silverstream and Silverstream beating Naenae.
Amongst the West Coast clubs, Otaki came out on top beating both Horowhenua and Kapiti, with Kapiti beating Horowhenua.
Apart from their loss to Otaki (Diane & Gary Brunton), Kevin McFadgen and Alan Taylor won their remaining games to capture the Champion Of Champions Doubles title.

In a strange case of déjà vu, Naenae had the Bye in the first round and in their first game the scores were tied. In the Doubles the previous day, Naenae scored in the tie-break to win 12-11, while in the Singles, Naenae scored in the tie-break to win 11-10!
At the lunch break, Dave Gwerder and Graeme Morris were leading with 3 wins. Dave had sat out his Bye, while Graeme had a loss and was yet to have the Bye. Steve Frampton and Vaughan Husband were a point behind on 2 wins.
As luck would have it, Dave and Steve faced each other in the last round with both of them on 4 wins to set up a final.
In a see-saw battle, Steve jumped to a 3 point lead in the penultimate end. Dave could only score a 1, so Steve won the Champion of Champions Singles title for a second time.
Upper Hutt's second defence of the Jacques Cochonnet Trophy was away at Otaki. In the first round, Otaki won both the Singles and Doubles to take a 2-1 lead.
The second round was a repeat of the first round as Otaki stretched their lead to 4-2. Needing to win all 3 games in the final round, Upper Hutt won the Singles but lost the Triples to hand the match to Otaki 5-3 (the last Doubles game was not completed).
Otaki's first defence match is at home to Horowhenua.
Thirty-two players took part in the Regional Women's Singles Championship at Horowhenua. This equalled the best entry set in the 2017-18 season.
Four rounds of qualifying were held in the morning and four players emerged with four wins (Bronwyn Ritchie, Marie Jones, Michelle Maxwell and Christine Strichen). Players were divided into 4 sections of 8 players for the knockout stages in the afternoon.
In the Trophy section, Michelle Maxwell won a tight contest 12-11 against Christine Strichen to claim her first Women's Singles Championship.
The Plate was won by Annick Le Guen from Wendy Lawson. Beryl Cowan defeated Rachel Clarke to win the Bowl and the Saucer was won by Kathy Gatford from Carleen Fitzgerald.
Twelve teams took part in the Women's Doubles held at the Wanganui East club.
In the Trophy final Yvonne Futcher/Annick Le Guen beat Christine Strichen/Claire Wilson 11-10.
The Plate was won by Ann Hogg/Shirley MacDonald from Jane Gilbert/Pamela Schrader and the Bowl was won by Beryl Cowan/Louise Rose who beat Kerry Gilliam/Shirley Madgwick.
