Champion of Champions Triples

Participants in the Champion of Champions Triples

Eight clubs took part in the Champion of Champions Triples at Silverstream. The format was a Round Robin pool with eight teams. The time limit was 50 minutes, plus 1 end.

It was close between Masterton and Manawatu with both teams winning six games. The final result was decided by Masterton's slightly better points differential. (+25 versus +24).

Winner Bruce Stephenson with Graeme Morris

Masterton Petanque Club held an Open Mêlée on Thursday 27 April 2023.

Twenty four players from five clubs competed in five games of 50 minutes in beautiful autumn weather.

The winner was Bruce Stephenson (Naenae) with 4 wins +32 points. Second was Lorraine Gray (Silverstream) 4 wins +16 and in third place Peter Matthews 4 wins +13.

Nineteen teams competed in the Murrayfield Open Triples at Otaki on Sunday 7 May 2023.

The trophy was won by Shirley MacDonald, Ann Hogg and Graeme Morris.

Jacques Cochonnet Trophy Challenge

8 May 2023

Kapiti challenged Wanganui East for the Jacques Cochonnet Trophy on Saturday 6 May 2023.

It was close again with Wanganui East winning 5-4 overall.

Wanganui East's next defence is at home against Otaki.

Sinclair Memorial Open Doubles

Winners Andy and Jane Gilbert

Twenty seven teams participated in the Sinclair Memorial Doubles, up from 13 previously.

Fine weather greeted participants for this fun event in the closing stages of the season.

Highest Manawatu Petanque Club team: Peter Foxall/Jeremy Neild.

The trophy was won by Jane and Andy Gilbert with Michelle Maxwell and Ann Hogg runners up.
