WPA Regional Mixed Doubles

Regional Mixed Doubles participants

Twenty-four teams took part in the Fourth Regional Mixed Doubles Championship. Held only six months after the last season's event, the date had been brought forward to match the National Mixed Doubles which is now scheduled as the first Championship of the season.

Unfortunately, Covid-19 meant that National Championship was postponed but the Regional Championship was able to be held.

Defending Champions, Sheryl Parslow and Dene Futcher started off strongly with two wins, but two losses consigned them to the Plate. Meanwhile, Denise Bavidge and Geoff Greer, who won the Bowl last season, qualified eighth and then progressed through to the final against Sharon Cannon and Mosies Burgos (last season's vice-Champions). In a see-saw battle, Denise and Geoff prevailled 13-10.

Debby Butler & Kevin McFadgen beat Claire Wilson & Brett Maguire to win the Plate. The Bowl was won by Ngaire Eriksen & Richard Turfrey from Yvonne Futcher & Tony Simpson.
